Fiona Bruce is our local MP (in case you weren’t aware) as member of parliament for Congleton. She is a Conservative party MP.
Fiona has confirmed that she will be standing for re-election in Theresa May’s June 8th 2017 snap election.
Writing on her website, she said “I will be standing once again for re-election as Member of Parliament for the Congleton Constituency – it is a job I love and it has been a real privilege to serve the great people of this area since 2010 and I very much hope to continue to do so.”
Fiona Bruce was elected in 2010 and then re-elected in 2015.
She also added that “I confirm that I will be standing again for election as MP for Congleton and look forward to campaigning among people in the Congleton constituency – from Alsager to Middlewich, Holmes Chapel to Sandbach, Goostrey to Congleton, and the many more close-knit communities within our area. It has been an honour and a genuine pleasure to serve the people of this beautiful part of Cheshire since 2010, and one to which I have given my all. I believe that working together we can continue to make real progress in many ways for our communities – whether in schools, transport, green spaces, jobs, or supporting the myriad of wonderful community groups in which local people selflessly do so much to enhance our quality of life here.”
It looks to be an interesting couple of months coming up. What do you think? Feel free to comment below.
