If you are thinking of moving to Holmes Chapel, you will have a lot of questions. If you also have children, one of the main things you will need to know about is the school provision in the village.

There are two primary schools and one secondary school in Holmes Chapel itself. There are also pre-schools/nurseries and childminders in the area as well. The primary schools also have (as far as I know) breakfast and after school clubs.  I have provided links to all of the schools below so you can visit their respective websites to find out more.

The primary schools are:

If these are full, there is an excellent primary school at Brereton – which is a couple of miles away from Holmes Chapel.

There is one secondary school which also has an active and growing sixth form. This is:

It was originally a comprehensive, but like many schools, became an academy in recent years. This is a popular school and as house building has intensified in the local area, is probably mainly populated with children from the local area these days – though there will be children attending from further afield as well.  It used to feel like the majority of the school intake was from further afield (though that includes the many villages surrounding Holmes Chapel, as well as neighbouring towns).

All of the schools have their own uniforms as you would expect. These are less formal for the primary schools of course. You can buy school uniform locally from the Sam Dales shop on Macclesfield Road. There are shops in other nearby towns who also stock the secondary school uniform – for example, in Sandbach.

In terms of nursery or pre-school provision, one option is Busy Bees. Another, which also provides after school activities is Happy Days nursery and school club.  There will be other options in the village as well in terms of child minders.

If you have any questions that you can’t find an answer for around Holmes Chapel schools – feel free to leave a comment, or ask on our shiny new forum.
