Cheshire East Council are proposing to add a new pedestrian crossing outside Holmes Chapel Primary school to serve the pupils and parents and staff crossing the busy Middlewich Road. A lollipop person was employed previously, but the permanent crossing will provide a ’round the clock’ solution. All of our roads are getting more congested due to the increasing house building and it’s vital that people can cross all of our roads safely.
The notice, posted on the Cheshire East site, says:
- Notice is hereby given that the Cheshire East Borough Council proposes in exercise of its powers under Section 23 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 as amended, and following consultation with the Chief Officer of Police, proposes to install a pedestrian crossing at the following location:-
Middlewich Road, Holmes Chapel – Located approximately 97 metres east of the junction with Brookfield Drive.
If you want to find out more about this proposal or to make representations, then you can go to the Cheshire East website for more information. Representations should be received by June 12th.
