New bar proposed for Holmes Chapel

Posted by on October 16, 2016

beer-imageA planning application has been submitted to convert the currently empty Nat West Bank building into a bar, with the proposed name, the Bottle Bank. You can view and comment on the planning application here on the Cheshire East planning portal.

There are still a number of empty units in the village which are becoming increasingly tatty looking. Personally, I think this is a great idea and completely welcome it. However, I appreciate that some people may not be so enthusiastic, and there are some people objecting to the application (but others who are completely in favour of it). According to the owner, the bar will sell craft beers and ales, but also quality wines and spirits such as gin and whisky so it should be an excellent addition to the limited Holmes Chapel night time economy.

Whether you like it or not, Holmes Chapel is a growing village and therefore we need more places to eat, drink and socialise. I hope the application is approved and look forward to raising a glass there soon. Whether or not you agree, you can register your views on the Cheshire East site by following the link above.
