There’s a lot happening in the village at the moment. The Saltersford Corner planning application has been resubmitted to Cheshire East Council (Saltersford Corner planning application on the Cheshire East website) – this has already been refused but the concern as I understand it is that the developer may succeed on appeal because Cheshire East have been having problems convincing the government that it has a 5 year housing plan. There’s still time to add your comments on the Cheshire East site. There is a working group trying to buy the AP Club to retain it for local community use. There’s a new Costa Coffee opening next to Sainsbury’s in August plus other retail units are either empty or rumoured to be changing and there’s a plan for a huge Sainsburys (which seems to have gone very quiet) on the old Fison’s site. And that’s just a few things off the top of my head. Oh, and there’s a new HGV route plan to divert HGV’s away from the centre of the village. Lots going on! Talk about it on the Holmes Chapel discussion forum. If you’re not registered yet, it only takes a few minutes.
