I’ve had a few people asking about the details for the fireworks so I’ve finally located a poster (in the Victoria Club of course) and taken a photo so here it is. As you can see, it’s on November 5th, which is nice. Bonfire lighting is at 5.30pm, fireworks will be at 7.00pm. There will also be some fairground rides for younger children, a barbecue and of course, a full bar available. Entry is an extremely reasonable £10 for a family (max 4 children and adults combined), or £5 for one adult and £3 for a child. This is a huge annual event for the wonderful Victoria Club so please come along and have a great time.
If you haven’t been to the Victoria Club before, it’s at the end of Victoria Avenue, just off London Road (Victoria Avenue is almost opposite Jubilee Garage). The club has loads of events, sports and activities running all year round, and membership is very cheap so if you live in Holmes Chapel, you really ought to join if you haven’t yet. There’s bowls, cricket, tennis, table tennis, snooker, darts, screening of all major football, rugby and other sporting events and much more going on all the time. There’s also a large function room available to hire, and of course, an excellent bar with two lounges. It’s also the most family friendly place in the village.
