A new planning application has been submitted for outline permission to develop the Victoria Mills (formerly Fads) site off Macclesfield Road. The proposal is to build up to 155 houses on the site, which has been mooted for housing development for some time. You can access all the supporting information on the Cheshire East site and interested parties are invited to submit their comments on the application to Cheshire East Council.
The site masterplan can be seen below. (Click it to see the full sized version)
What do you think? Do more houses drive more local business growth? Worried about school places, parking, health centre access and road congestion? Is it better to do “something” with the site rather than have it left to rot? Do you wish there was more employment/office/factory space being developed instead of housing in order to create local jobs?
