Building starts on London Road

If you drive down the A50 to or from the direction of Brereton then you will have noticed that building activity seems to be starting on the site that we reported as receiving planning permission to build 190 new homes in 2016. Just in case you were wondering what is happening on London Road, it’s yet another big housing development.

The original outline planning permission (from the Cheshire East Planning Portal) says that the site will host 190 new houses.

So, if you were wondering what was going on there, and you had forgotten about this one, then now you know.

What we don’t seem to have in the area is any new commercial, leisure or retail developments. Maybe this new development will prompt someone to take on the abandoned Fisons site that Sainsbury’s were supposed to be developing before pulling out (after knocking down the lovely art deco building). This site is currently up for sale.  Their original plans were for a large supermarket with a petrol station.
