As you may be aware, there is a proposal for a new housing estate to be built off London Road – it’s technically in Brereton but just outside Holmes Chapel.
On the one hand, I sympathise with those living nearby. Also, as a resident, I am concerned about the impact on already strained local services (doctors, dentists etc. ) and on traffic. On the other hand, if Holmes Chapel is going to develop and provide the foundations for new businesses to spring up to cater for the local population then there needs to be a big enough population to sustain this – it’s a bit of a chicken and egg situation.
Whatever your views, here are some links:
http://www.your-views.co.uk/ho…..n-leaflet/ Gladman properties are looking for views (presumably to help them to shape their planning application which hasn’t gone in at the time of writing). There is also a downloadable PDF leaflet on this page so you can see the plans in more details.
https://www.facebook.com/pages/Save-London-Road/764888046931923?fref=ts – this is a facebook group set up to campaign against the development.
http://planning.cheshireeast.g…..dc035863b3 here is a search for Planning applications in Holmes Chapel shown as a list (most recent first) if you want to keep an eye on submissions. You will be given the opportunity to comment on this application (and any others) via the Cheshire East site.
